Snow Buntings in Scituate

I don’t know if it is a good sign to see Snow Buntings so early in the year. Is it a sign that we are in for a rough winter? I don’t know. Still quite dapper, this male is in his non-breeding plumage. I found him down by the Scituate Lighthouse. He goes well with granite, dormant grass and beach pebbles.

...love these photos! Such a beautiful bird. They do make it to Cincy now and then, but I've never seen one through a camera lens! I keep hoping...

Well yes it is quite early for you to get them, but that's probably due to the large storm we got last week... It pushed them towards your direction, jsut as all the bohemian we are getting in the north-northeast of Iceland...

At least you got nice pictures of them. without getting any troubles because of the snow ;-)
I love the first one...

They are great looking birds Steve and you got some nice images of them. Unfortunately its a bird I haven't seen as yet, but we do get them here.

I really like the first and third picture, where the bird comes out good in the picture.
