The last of the great trees

You better hurry up to New England. Trees like these are becoming harder to find.©2010 ShootingMyUniverse

When I think about it - there is at least one generation of youngsters that have never seen, nor will they - the stately elm trees that used to line our boulevards. They were truly massive trees, and now are virtually extinct. ATB!

We had a late foliage here this season, but the leaves are really starting to fall now.

HI Ganesh,
This tree was shot in Ipswich, Massachusetts last Sunday.

I know Rusty. I have a friend from Burlington, VT that sent me a picture of a real, live elm tree with leaves and everything. I do miss them.

Matthew, autumn is so transient.

We are getting strong winds now Steve and there wont be much to see here either before long.

We take these great trees for granted. Some years ago a tornado destroyed several 100-year old trees on our farm in Tennessee. It was like losing old and dear friends.

Or down to New England! All of the trees around here have finished their fall displays!
