Forgotten Photo Friday, California Towhee

These California Towhees were shot on two different trips to the the west coast. I like the colors in this shot plus it accentuates the rusty butt field mark. This one was shot outside of San Jose.

California Towhees are fairly common in the west half of California down through Baja California. This one was shot in Palm Springs. How could you not like this face?

Yes the colors of the background highlights the color pattern of the bird which is superb. I love the second picture better, because it is clearer and the bird has a beautiful pose on it!!! Fantastic pictures!

the first picture captured the mood of the forest..but object needs more contrast to make it stand out. I like it so much. The second picture is awesome!

Interesting Steve. The California Towhee is less colorful than the ones we have here in Oregon. The Towhee is one of my favorites that come to our front yard. You've inspired me - I'll have to post one. I really like your second shot - nice pose!
