Muggy Tenpound Island

What is it about New England? Does it just like to listen to its inhabitants bitch? We have been in the mid 90s all week long. Now that isn’t too hot. After all, in Colorado the mid 90s is no big deal because the humidity is around 40%. Here in New England, it is the humidity is 95%.

This is Tenpound Island in the morning humidity.

Finally, the sunsets have been a bit better.

Oh my that is a fantastic sunset photo. the thing about New England weather is that it just isn't free. Any beautiful fall day we had last year will be paid for in spades (or hades) during the summer. On the flip side this last week means that we have some beautiful October days coming to us!

Yes, last year we had a wet July and the fall colors were awsome. I'm hoping to have another great, beautiful fall again this year.

Hi Steve,
If this is just about rain, it is fine... You know since we have been back from France, it has rarely been over 16°C here, with quite a lot of wind. Coming back from Holidays where it was more than 30°C, I still did not dare to go out birding (Well I also know that there are no birds for the moment).
Still despite the weather you got a very goo sunset picture!

Hi Chris, 16C, that's 61F. That's no fun for summer! We had rain all May and June now it is just hot and sticky.

Hi Eve, I'm rather happy with that one too.

Do you think I could go and live in the middle of those trees Steve? Looks like an ideal place to me. Love the pics.

Beautiful sunset featuring the gull, Steve! I'm in Denver, CO, for a few days and you're right - it's in the 80's but "dry" so feels pretty good. In Breckenridge, 90 miles away, nights are going into low 30's! I'm hoping you have good fall colors, too - I look forward to seeing your pics.

I think New Englanders really prefer winter, even though they bitch about that too - but winter requires hardiness, toughness - and anyone who tries to make a living off these rocky hills has to have those qualities. Plus, it takes the blood a long time to thin out in the summer. And face it - the heat AND humidity is a bitch, unless there is a swimming hole nearby. And not just BTW, great sunset!

I have not complained for one minute this past week. After the weather we had in June and July I refuse to complain about summertime heat. After all, summer's too damn short to begin with!

That heat was very good for your Gull photo too, Steve!

Chris, I'm am a born and bred New Englander and I do not prefer winter. Now that I will definitely bitch about! LOL!
