Tiny Checkerspot

©2009 ShootingMyUniverse

After much deliberation, I do believe this is a Tiny Checkerspot that was kind enought to hold still long enough for me to bring to you.

Beautiful photos, and a correct ID. This species and the Elada Checkerspot are often confused. On the hindwing below, the outer row of spots is white in the Tiny Checkerspot, orange in the Elada Checkerspot.

Beautiful macro, esp the last one.
This 300mm is very versatile lenses.

More amazing shots. I so rarely get to capture butterflies. The detailing on these are amazing, especially the last one I'm looking at as I write this. It looks like tiny fringe on the edge of its wings.
