Blue means cold.

I was trained in physics and astronomy. To an astronomer, blue means hot and red means cold. Since my university days, I’ve been fettered with this data. For artists and car manufacturers, red means warm, blue means cold. I still have to think when I turn on the air conditioner in a car with the red to blue scales.

These two photos remind me that blue means cold.

You learn something new every day! I never knew that about astonomy! Who'd be a fisherman! Brrrrr! I have every admiration for those men.

Cool blue pictures, with ladies too.

Now that could be a problem!! :)It is no wonder I like anything blue and don't own anything which is red. I probably see it the same as you do Steve. :)

Thanks All, I've enjoyed reading your feed back. :) Just to wrap up the mystery about astronomers, stars have colors. Ours is actually a yellow star. Some stars are red, green or blue. It depends on the size and the surface temperature of the star. Red stars emit predominately red light. Blue stars emit mostly blue light. Our sun emits mostly yellow light. (See, physics ain't hard.)

We perceive it as white because of all the other light coming in. But red stars have a cooler surface temperature than yellow stars which have a cooler temperature than blue stars.

Okay, I've had enough blue. I'm liking the orange in the Gull pictures above ; )

That Miss Sandy is quite pretty in pictures but she looks a little rickety to me. Beautiful shot though Steve. Blue it is!

I'm partial to Rooster's. They're all over my kitchen!

Hi Sharon. The Miss Sandy is a small trawler and has seem namy a fishing season. She and the Razzo are about the same size and are hard working boats!

Well that's good to know Steve! Somehow I would bet she is a lot bigger in person then she looks in the photo.

No, she's on the small side.
