Bushtits

Here is an old friend that I haven't seen in years. I spied these Bushtits eating seeds in a tree in San Jose' during our visit.

They are so fuzzy, I’ve always had the idea that if they got hit by a stiff breeze that they would blow way into a big poof just like dandelion seeds.

What a cutie! Reminds me a bit of a tufted titmouse without the "tuft" :)

Ha Ha Ha!! They are cute little birds! I wonder if I'll ever get out west to see some of their wonderful birds.

They are nice little birds. They are very gregarious. They make a nest that looks like a gray sock that is about ten inches long. It has an opening in the top and several Titmice will lay eggs in it. They don’t make a fuss, seem to be flying from bush to bush, minding their own business and are just are pleasant to have around.

I like the way you compared them to dandelion seeds. I just thought the bird was fluffed up from the wind but I guess not!

It almost looks like it might be a member of the Chickadee family.

No Sharon, this is what they look like! Little balls of fluff!

Joan, even for little gray birds, they are pretty cool.

Hope you get to make it out to the West Coast. Driving down CA 1 along the Big Sur is really cool.

Yup, Tabib, I had the sun at my back and the humidity was low. Good sky shooting weather.
