I have to chuckle; and hang out my dirty laundry. I have seen a few mink along the Ipswich River. Why, here is one I saw on May 1, 2010. When you spot a mink, you just about have enough time to get your camera up to your face and that’s about it. Mink 5-1-2010 8-49-39 AM

I actually saw this one twice that morning. I believe it was carrying a pup.

And then there was the time last year when one came bounding up to me and stopped at my feet, then shot into the weeds. That time I didn’t even get a chance to get the camera up to my face.

Yesterday was different. I heard a rustling in the weeds and this little sprite popped up. Now mind you it was raining and the light level was low. So hanging out more of my dirty laundry…I got about five shots. This was the only keeper.

Feeling pretty good that I got a good frame or two in the can and the mink was not going to pop back up, I continued down the boardwalk.

About fifteen minutes later…look who wanted get by!

It was actually watching the beaver with me.

Then it bounded off to more photogenic locations at which time, it decided not to be so cooperative and I was left with black streaks in my images.
