A bird in the hand is worth…

…two in the bush.

I took an early morning walk around the yard and saw these two birds. The bird on the left is a Swamp Sparrow and the one on the right is a Red-eyed Vireo. The young Swamp Sparrow thought he was the Cock-of-the-Rock and was chasing off the resident Song Sparrows. He tried talking smack to the vireo, but he was not having any of that.

I’m rather pleased with this because it rarely get a good photo of two bird species in one frame. Not only that, but getting a Red-eyed Vireo is the frosting on the cake. They are common here, but they are never found this low to the ground. This Vireo is also a youngster.
