First New England Dragonfly of the Year!

This is a male Stream Cruiser. It is one of the early dragons on Cape Ann. I shot this one today during my lunch break.

Stream Cruisers will fly around much like a Darner and when the decide to land, they do so fairly low to the ground, 1-3 feet above the soil. This makes it difficult to get a nice and clean background.

As I was processing the images, I notice a structure behind the right eye. I thought that it may be a mite, but it actully is normal. I checked photos from previous years to be sure.
