Desert Dragonflies

You wouldn’t think that dragonflies can be found in the desert. This one was shot in Palm Springs, up where I shoot my Costa’s Hummingbirds. This Variegated Meadowhawk was very cooperative, so I was able to do a little photo study with different backgrounds. ©2017 Steve Borichevsky

The dragon below is a bit of a mystery. It looks a lot like our Blue Dashers, but the colors are not quite right.

Very nice shots Steve.

Have looked on 'BugGuide' and I think you captured a female Blue Dasher.

Hi Frank, Most likely. She probably has some age to her.
