Monument to the Discoveries

Another Lisbon landmark is the Monument to the Discoveries. A good write-up can be found in the Wikipedia article Padrão dos Descobrimentos that includes a picture with all of the figures labeled.

As always, great images Steve! I haven't been to Lisbon since 2001 when Danielle and I spent 3 days recovering from watching the horrors of 9/11. A lot of the monuments and squares downtown were being renovated during our time there. I watched the praca de figueira have every stone reset in a day and a half! The castle, the Se, and the pork were my favorite takeaways from Lisboa. Take care, Justin
