Marl Pennant

This is a Marl Pennant. I shot this bug in Coachman Park in Clearwater, Florida. I was eyeing some other critters around a pond but I could not resist taking the photo of an adult dragon fly by the husk of a dragonfly larva that had emerged some time ago. I’m glad that I did take this photo because I would have missed an opportunity to photograph a new species.

Marl Pennants, per my guidebook often hang around Four-Spotted Pennants along coastal lakes and ponds. At the time I was trying to photograph a Four-spotted Pennant, and was tending to overlook this wonderful little animal.
