Maples in bloom

If you had asked me in February if I we would see green again after the nine feet of snow we suffered I probably would have said, “No”. Yet here we are in early May and the maple trees are in full bloom. And just as the past winter was unlike anything I have ever seen, this year the maple flowers are unlike any I have seen.

We have two predominate maples here, the Sugar Maple and the Red Maple. Yes we have Rock Maple and a couple of others, but let’s not major in the minors.

Beautiful. Mother nature catching up quickly after your extensive cold winter.

So what is your prediction for the fall colours this year Steve?

Merisi said...

Brilliant colours, mother nature does it best!

Hi Merisia Thanks for stopping by again.

Ontario should not be too far behind us, Mr Gnome.

Frank, I wish I could tell you. But so much can happen between now and October. We could have another hurricane that would draw salt spray all through New England like Irene did, or we could run into a drought or we could have the best ever! I won't know until late September and then we could get a big storm that takes down all the leaves.
