Red-bellied Woodpecker

My first encounter with this bird was in Tennessee in 2006 when I was living there for a brief period. When I started birding in the ‘80s, the Red-bellied Woodpecker was not found in Massachusetts. Now they are a common visitor to my yard.

I'm a fan of red-bellieds. We had a pair at our feeders in Texas who were pretty fun to watch. The cached and suet EVERYwhere. Miss those little guys! Nice photos!
