Chipping Sparrow

Chipping Sparrows taunt me. I see them when I walk around campus at work. But it wouldn’t do for me to be walking around with camera gear when I’m supposed to be an engineer. They hop around the ground, sit up in the trees and just go about their business.

Saturday at Appleton Farms, I found this one taking a bit of a dust bath. He was cooperative, but quite frankly, this one will not be appearing on the cover of QG.

Then he decided to forage at the edge of a mud puddle. Come on, throw me a bone here!

Then he hopped up on a weathered wooden fence rail. That’s better.

Be sure to visit Wild Bird Wednesday this week!

I'm waiting for the chipping sparrows to return to my area, I've missed them this summer. Great shots!
