Three good gulls on one trip

I have three gulls today. All of these were found in the Salton Sea area in mid April on the same day. I remember the first (and last) time I saw the Yellow-footed Gull. It was back in 1988 in the same general area. It was 114F and 100% humidity. Miserable. This day was mid 70s. Very comfortable.

We do get Bonaparte’s Gulls on Cape Ann. But it’s a winter bird for us and we do not get to see breeding plumage adults.

A breeding plumage Franklin’s Gull, what a treat!

...these are all beauties, Steve! (Glad it was lovely and in the 70s...instead of 114!)
