Bewick’s Wren

In typical Wren fashion, the Bewick’s Wren would prefer to chatter from some brushy bush than come out to be photographed. Likewise, I have Carolina Wrens in the yard. They have eluded my lens for 18 months now. This Bewick’s Wren was photographed in Big Morongo Canyon Preserve.

No pics of your Carolina wren? I had a pair that moved into an unused mailbox attached to the siding under my kitchen window. Several winters ago (before the house got a much needed paint job) one was busily trying to imitate a woodpecker on the fascia over the front door in Ipswich, must have been looking for larva.

Thanks Furry Gnome.

Brujolito, Ha! It's not like I cannot find them. They actually have one of the loudest songs in the yard! Last spring, one tried to set up shop in the cover of the barbeque.
