Good pictures! I've never even heard of a Purple Sandpiper, but then I checked the map in Peterson and I see why. They don't get near southern Ontario very often! Must be interesting what you can see living on the coast.

They are such pretty little birds!! I was wondering today, as I waited for the bus and watched the gulls, what it would be like to live in a 3 dimensional world, the way birds do...

Hi Steve. I saw 5 Purple Sandpipers yesterday with my bird class but I could not get good shotsl like yours. great little birds

Lovely Birds Steve. I get to see them fairly close to home here in the UK, I travel about 90mins west to Merseyside and can usually connect with them.

Very cool. I have never seen a purple sandpiper although they do occasionally fly through here on their way southward.
