The ghost of Ipswich River

The Ipswich River flows through Wilmington, Reading, North Reading, Middleton, Hamilton, Topsfield and Ipswich, Massachusetts. In the center of Ipswich is a dam that separates the tidal part of the river that empties into Plum Island Sound and Ipswich Bay from the lazy river above.

Saturday morning I was up before the sun and out the door to head up river to the Topsfield-Ipswich town boarders where I know of some wonderful spots to do some shooting.

It was as if I was welcomed by the ghost of the river. This apparition rose just as I arrived on location.

And then it was gone.
