Tufted Titmice

Yes, the plural of Tufted Titmouse is Tufted Titmice. As I wasn’t sure, since the plural of moose is moose and the plural of mouse is mice. We English speaking people tend to beg, borrow and steal words, usages and even rules for forming words from every culture we touch.

Since moose is a game animal, we tend to make the plural the same as the singular. But a Titmouse is not a game animal so I’m never sure if it the plural is titmouses, which sounds weird. But just because is sounds weird does not mean its wrong. Well, it is indeed titmice, which sounds much better.
