Nice one Steve! Was this image taken recently? Juicy pink berries like those in your picture would have been long-gone in UK, devoured by Thrushes and Waxwings!
Thanks for all the comments. The bird is sitting in a pepper tree. Those are ripened pepper berries that are in the background.
I shot this bird in San Jose, California. This is on the opposite side of the contenent from where I am.
We get out that way a couple of times per year. It makes it nice because I can do a lot of photography and it helps me get through the boaring stick season of January and February here in New England.

Gorgeous colours in the background to go with this Black and white bird Steve. Where did you take it?
A super contrasting shot Steve.
Thanks, Roy.
Jenny, this is a bird you will find in California. I shot this one in San Jose.
Great shot!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Great photowork, well done!
Beautiful bird and colors in the background.
Beautiful shot of the Black Phoebe Steve. That colorful bokeh really compliments the bird.
The Black Phoebe is a beautiful bird. I hope to see it in person someday! Great shot, Steve!
Very nice image! A sleek looking flycatcher! Hope to see one some day.
lovely to see this bird on your side of the world Steve. It chose the nicest tree to sit upon for your photograph too
That's wonderful! I've always wanted to see one here.
Great picture - apart from the bird I like the way the clumps of (?) moss lead your eye into the picture.
Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW

I use to live in Maine and I was thinking wow you guys are having a mild winter. Then I read your reply to Jenny.
No matter where you took the photo it is a wonderful shot. The bird is lovely and the composition is great.
I agree with Jenny about the deep color of the bird against the lovely colors in the back ground!
Great job. I enjoyed this very much! I am a newbie and am loving learning all about birds!
Happy hunting!
What a pretty bird!
