A lot of work has gone into the wind turbine here in Gloucester at the Varian Semiconductor Equipment site. Below is a list of my posts in chronological order of the construction.

  2. The barge with tower sections in the Inner Harbor
  3. The jobs site and a quick piece on Baldwin Cranes
  4. The nacelle staged on the job site
  5. Bringing a blade up to the job site
  6. Setting the first tower section
  7. Setting the second tower section
  8. Third tower section and crane preparations
  9. School visit, crane preparations
  10. The power lines, crane preparations
  11. 4th and 5th tower section lifts
  12. Preparing the nacelle for the big lift
  13. Lifting the nacelle and powertrain
  14. Assembling the first two blades
  15. Mounting the third blade
  16. Lifting the rotor
  17. Candid shots of the workers

As of today, there is still work to be done but most of it is inside the structure so no photo ops.
