Saturday Evening Creature Feature, Painted Lady again!

What can I say, you have to make hay while the sun shines. We have a great deal of Painted Ladies fluttering about. I took these Thursday afternoon. Compare these to the ones I posted last Saturday. Pay attention to is the funky eye phenomenon. Since I noticed that this bug has a tendency to have an “iris” that looks at you, I decided to try to see if this iris follows the observer.

So what do you think? Is this bug keeping an eye on me?

A blow up of the photo above. Check out the eye spots almost looking back at us!

And another Painted Lady sunning on a granite slab.

Pretty cool, eh? So let me ask you. If you were a predator, would you pounce something that was looking you right in the eye?

Caramba...Pues sí...Muy interesante, lo desconocía jejeje...Los humanos deberíamos tener algo así para evitar a los depredadores jejeje...

Interesante post y bonitas capturas.

Un abrazote grande
