Saturday Evening Creature Feature, Butterflies are out!

On a woods walk in Dogtown, I found the first butterflies of the season! The first two images are of American Ladies.

The first butterfly that I usually see in Dogtown is the Juvinal’s Duskywing. This one is soaking up some solar heat.

Although the seem to be non-descript and brown, if you take a close look, they do have iridescence in their color patterns.

Other butterflies seen are Cabbage Whites, Eastern Tailed Blues and Morning Cloaks.

Lovely butterflies. They haven't come out here yet - but I hope they will soon!

Lovely butterfly sightings, here in the UK we've had near constant rain and drizzle for the past couple of weeks and butterfly blog sightings have been few and far between. So its been great to look further afield and check out sightings of fellow bloggers across the Atlantic. Especially in terms of seeing species that we dont get over here.
