The Day Gloucester Stood Still

As I mentioned yesterday, the greasy pole took a tumble. We had very extreme tides with the full moon and a rather nasty windstorm come through. It was just too much for the Gloucester icon. Down it went. This is what it looked like at 7:00am.

Mourners filed past, the Lady S’s crew snaps some pictures.

Later in the afternoon, the greasy pole was solemnly towed to Rose’s Marina.

A moment of silence, please.

However, the Mayor has announce that the greasy pole will be rebuilt! So, “Dance away, Dance away!”
