Hutton’s Vireo in Carmel, California

This is another old friend from my west coast days. I found him on our trip to Carmel, California last December. Hutton’s Vireos are found only on the west coast from North Baja California up through Vancouver Island. There is another subspecies that is found throughout Mexico.

Gorgeous shot, Steve! This is the first time I have even heard of this bird.

Very cute capture Steve of a very nice bird... I think Iðve seen only one species of Vireo and that was in Chile back in 2008!

Great to look in on another species I have never seen. Thanks Steve.

Great close-up. I am encouraged to hopefully get something along this order with my new 70-300 in the future. Now only if the birds would cooperate.

Hutton's! I'm quite partial to these guys. My husband and I are publishing a paper on them soon and he's doing a poster presentation on our work next week - so, I love this picture :) They don't sit still so easily, glad he allowed you the privilege of taking his photo :)
