We have one here this year (had 2 winter on our pond last year and only 1 returned this fall). I adore them. Such pert and perky little guys.

How neat! I often see one of these little guys at Ditto Landing here in Huntsville. I enjoy watching them dive and then try to guess where they will come up next.

That is a wonderful little grebe. I am currently living and working at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge on the upper Texas coast. A week ago, I spotted ten of them in our rookery pond.
