#1000. I gotta do more of this.

Can you believe it? This is post number 1000. Now it would be pretty cool to do something like a “best of” post or a “my favorites”, but let’s face it. My best stuff is yet to come. With that in mind, I’ve got to do more of this kind of stuff.

The other night, I watched a documentary about the Presidential Photographers and how much fun it must be to chase the President around and shoot all those important events and people. I actually like shooting candids. Formal portraits, though, are not my bag. But alas, I’ve chosen a different career and quite frankly, I’m happy to shoot what ever is in front of me when the shutter is tripped.

But living in Gloucester, it is easy-peasy. We are lucky to be living in such an interesting area. We have boats, the fishing industry, schooners, all kinds of cool birds, lighthouses and dragons. Who needs politicians? ©2010 ShootingMyUniverse

So how long have you been tagging along?

I found and began visiting your blog daily about a year ago, give or take. You do live in paradise, as has been mentioned before, and it is indeed easier to find beautiful shots in paradise than in someplace more, um, "normal!" I've found that to be true since moving from the lake, where every morning offered terrific sunrises and wildlife shots right off our deck. Even so, you have a keen eye, vast knowledge you share with us, and have built a beautiful platform for sharing with your blog. Congratulations on your 1,000th post! I'm so glad to have found your blog and enjoy visiting your world.

1000 posts!! Way to go, Steve...and congratulations. Wow...what a gorgeous way to commemorate #1000. This photo sparkles with light and the colors are so rich. It's one of my favorite! I started visiting you about 2 years ago--early on from when I first started blogging.

Congrats on 1,000! I've only been following for a month or so, but truly enjoy your pix. And I love your attitude of the best is yet to come! :)

That photo is just gorgeous! And I wouldn't want to be stalking politicians...

Congrats on number 1000 Steve. I use your photos as a benchmark for mine. I know what you mean by the "not my bag" but this year I'm going to try and expand my "view" on things.

Congrats on 1000! :)
I am not sure how long it has been...1 1/2 year maybe. I don't write so often - but I am visiting! :) Always fun to visit you, you have such a diversity of photos!

1,000. Well I'm jealous. I've been visiting your blog since I started blogging in July of 2009. You do have an interested area to photograph. Lots of diversity. It's hard to find things to photograph in Kentucky which is why day trips are in order. Carol

You have been an inspiration for the past 2 years (long may it continue) and I enjoy the diversity that surrounds you.
Cheers FAB.

Congratulations on 1000 posts! Wow! I'm not sure how long I've been following your great photos, but I found you through Eve at "Sunny Side Up," so probably somewhere around 6 months (maybe?). Keep posting your great photos. I love looking at them. Brings back memories of when I was in MA as a kid--and the recent CA photos the same.

Wow, 1000 way to go, Steve. I don't remember exactly when I started looking at your blog. It has to be before April 2009. I got my DSLR late in March and Gloucester was the first trip I took with it. (Having been inspired by the gorgeous pictures you always get there. HOwever I have to say this is one of your best ever. The colors are so rich and the picture so clear. Congratulations once again.

You certainly do live in a very photogenic area, but you know how to find and take the great photos, and that's unusual among photo bloggers. This one is fantastic.
