Becky and I went out to a Tai restaurant in Newburyport, Massachusetts. On the way in, I spied a shot that I just couldn’t resist. After I placed our order and before the our first course arrive, I announced that I needed to take care of something. She thought I was headed for the head. Are you kidding? No, I was on a mission!

Well, I definitely concur that running out to shoot this was a photographic necessity. However, this southerner would like to know what these festive flags thingies are. I've never seen anything remotely like it. I've seen flags a-flyin', windsocks, etc., but this is new. To me. NICE and thank you!
Wow that's a nice shot Steve. Congrats!
Ah, my. That's the kind of thing I do to my husband, too! That or disappear into the back 40 to grab a photo of something.
Cheers from Cottage Country !
I'm with Giraffe on that question. (Only I'm a northerner - grin). Interesting shot though. ATB!
The lighthouse serves as a venue for a unique dining opportunity. Thus the flags serve no navagational purpose. http://www.lighthousepreservation.org/dining-press.php
In fact, I they were recently changed and I like these better than the old ones. Hence, this is the first photo I've ever taken of this landmark.
