Tut-tut, looks like rain!

That little blue patch above the red patch that is on “the other cape” and Boston is Cape Ann. We’re in for a tropical storm, but only by the skin on our teeth. Yup, it looks like it’s going to be a long night.

When I read that Earl was as big as the state of California and could cover the state of Texas, I was reminded of how insignificant we are compared to the forces of Nature. I've feared for the old lighthouse at Hatteras (haven't currently looked at any updates on Earl's impact on the area), but have breathed a huge sigh of relief that it didn't head toward the Gulf.
