I'm jealous, terribly jealous... I love waxwings a lot, since I've seen the bohemian in Finland!!!! How gorgeous these two shots are, even more, splendid! Lucky you, I will make a deal, two puffins + 1 red-throated diver in breeding plumage and you send me a waxwing ;-)

The waxwing is one of my favorite birds. We only see them as seasonal migrants here in Alabama, but what a treat when they come flying through.

Superb photography. I found you through "Sunny Side Up" and will visit often.

The Cedar Waxwings certainly win the prize for "Best Groomed Birds".

I am in total agreement with you there!! I remember reading somewhere that the Cedar Waxwing got it's name because it is so beautiful, it looks like it was carved from wax. Great images, Steve. ~karen

Oh wow Steve. Those are two really beautiful photos of the waxwing. I wished we had those in Kentucky but I've never seen them. Carol

Have just discovered your site. I'm impressed!
You're right about the Waxwing. I think it's one of the most beautiful too! Also it's not easy to shoot. These shots are exceptional.

I certainly wouldn't disagree.

Amazing photo. I can never get close enough to capture the lines and plummage as you have done here.
