Whiteface Dragon

We have a few Whiteface species of dragonflies in Massachusetts.  I shot this one in Ipswich near the Ipswich River in town.

Talk about a clean face! Check out this one.  The gals can be a bit tricky to ID.

Perhaps she is the female of this species.  This is a male Dot-tailed Whiteface on a lily pad that I shot at from a distance.

I'm loving your butterfly and dragonfly photos Steve. I'm glad you've been able to get out there and get some great views of these guys...seems I've been too busy lately...I'm missing all the fun!!!

Lovely photos, Steve. Dragonflies are difficult to capture, digitally speaking of course!

Dragonflies are so very interesting and I always love them swarming around my head when fishing , mowing the lawn, or just setting on the deck and one lands on you!!! I didn't realize there was so many different types until you have been posting them on your blog!!! Nice photos!!!
