Two Squirrels

This is our most common Grey Squirrel munching on a hickory nut.

And here is our Red Squirrel. It’s a bit smaller…

and a bit more of a chatter-box.

Nice pics! I love watching the antics of squirrels.

I actually didn't know that America had red squirrels as well - do the greys compete with them (as they do here in the UK) or is the balance just right? The red are definitely the cuter of the two species - those little tufty ears!

Cute little buggers, aren't they?

Great shots Steve! I love the Red squirrels but haven't seen any now in about three years. Guess there are too many Grays around for them. They sure are chatterboxes!! When I heard them I knew they were defending something or scared. They are so cute. Especially the baby ones. I was lucky to see a few.

Good photos of two charismatic species. I remember red squirrels from when I was a kid. Then they seemed to disappear for years. Recently I have been seeing them again while visiting my dad. I wonder if that reflects limits on my observations or whether their abundance has fluctuated.
