The Halifax Pilot

We said good by to the lighthouse on the jetty as we sailed out of Halifax, NS.

As we hit open ocean, I heard a boat coming in fast. It was the pilot boat coming in to pick up our pilot.

It came right under our stateroom.

©2010 ShootingMyUniverse And forced against the side of the ship where the pilot hopped off.  Mind you, we slowed to about 6 knots, but there was still a bit of pitching and rolling.  Hang onto your hat!

And then they steamed off.

Sailing in the Atlantic that evening we were treated to a nice sunset, a promise for beautiful weather ahead.
