Gloucester

I had an opportunity to hop a boat and go out for some winter birds today. Cold? Yes! Don't let those clear blue skies fool you. There was a constant 15mph wind coming out of the north west. Bone chillin'.

I bet most spent their time inside!
The question is...Did you "capture" any bird sightings?

Hi Jay,

I was surprised, I think a few just were not prepared for the cold. Most people started out inside, but then they were outside scampering around the boat looking for the leeward side.

The sea was spraying too much so we didn't get out past Salt Island.

Too bad about those winds Steve. Regardless you got some beautiful photos of Gloucester as always. Glad to see you made it back safe and sound!

I remember how bone chilling it was on the foc'scle in the northwest, but it's an experience I would have not missed for the world. I am sure you felt the same way. I love getting out on the water in all kinds of weather. Your photos are as always outstanding!!!

Great photos, I would love to go out on a pelagic trip. It does look cold, I hope everyone was bundled up and warm.

Beautiful day today, but that wind was ferocious. We visited the greenhouse at Smith College today for some warmth and color.

Gorgeous shots, Steve.
