Cooper's Hawk in my front yard.

Living as far east as one can on the east coast, my front yard is rather damp and not a habitat normally frequented by hawks. So it was much to my surprise when Becky called to me from the kitchen to have a look at a bird, it turned out to be a Cooper's Hawk.

Great shot, Steve. I guess the hawk wanted it's photo taken and knew where to come for that.

Marvelous shot! How fortunate Becky spotted him when she did. Raptors are always impressive wherever you find them. Around here most of what we see are Red Tail Hawks. I didn't realize that they had an aversion to damp areas though. I figured they just go where the food is.
