First Snow and the Rockport Commuter

We had our first snow Saturday night. Sunday morning I decided to take a stroll in Dogtown Commons and explore some new trails.

I could here the train horn blowing in Gloucester which meant only one thing. Don't get caught on the tracks!

Saturday, Becky and I drove up to Rockport, not very far from these tracks. The Rockport commuter train was going in the same direction and passed us. I guesstimate that the train was going about 40 mph, plus or minus.

RRRRRockport...last stop!
I've been on this train before.
Every time I hear the song Layla I remember once the train broke down and we had to get loaded onto a bus and layla was playing on some one's radio (back in the old days). A lot of us started singing...it was late at night. I think it might have been the last train.
I think I might have been a bit wild in my youth...

First snow is always something special! Beautiful shots, and it really looks cold! Not as in Oslo - all the snow is gone, and everything is dark and wet again!

Hi Steve,
Wonderful winter scenery! You have more snow than we do. It has melted over here, and we now have frost everywhere and cold wind.

Beautiful photos! It doesn't snow where I live, I think it's nice to look at. I'm not sure I could live in it. Thank you for sharing your world with me. hugs from HW

As much as I dislike all the extra work that comes with snow, it does make things pretty while it is white and fresh!

Excellent captures!

WOW...I almost had the same idea of heading down the tracks catching the snow & rails. At the very last moment I changed plans. I think it goes back when I was 8 or 9 years old and almost didn't get off the tracks in time when a train flew by! great pics!
