Great Black-backed Gull

This is a Great Black-backed Gull on the nets of the Plan B.

:-) In my landlocked state we get Herring Gulls, and Ring-billed Gulls with the occasional Bonaparte's, sooooo, I didn't know right off the bat! Love the photo with the nets and chains in the background.

Excellent shot of the Great Black-backed Gull. I love the color of their bills in the 1st year.

I have images of a Gull I shot in York, Me that I need to compare with your previous post. My mom thought it was a black-backed gull but now I'm not so sure.

There's a lot of textures going on in this photo and I like it.

Well would you be surprised if I say no!!! I'm so bad with gulls that I do not even look at them sometime!! The adults are ok, but the young gosh! Terrible... and we have so many around!

What a very handsome bird! I can just picture God with a fine brush painting on all the black tips to the feathers and smiling with satifaction.
