Salt Marsh

There have been lots of Bill shots of big, pounding waves, people playing in the surf and even light houses. This photo is something a little different and quite aesthetic. And it couldn't be shot without the tide surge of Bill.

This salt marsh is behind Lobsta' Land along Rt. 128 coming into town.
Essex County has one of the North America's largest continuous salt marsh systems stretching from Gloucester up through Newburyport and beyond. This was taken Saturday morning when what was left of Hurricane Bill was passing by. At high tide the salt marsh was flooded.

I'm glad Bill didn't cause any damage, but instead provided you with a nice photo shoot. Great reflection.

Great shot. I think you moved the bar higher on me again. I have trouble capturing this type of scenes. I know...practice, practice, practice.

Superb quality & depth of reflection. Steve do I presume this is part of the 'Great Marsh'?
This is my ideal birding location - when do the waders arrive?
Cheers Frank.

Hi Steve, thanks for stopping by my blog and for the comment. Isn't Sharon wonderful?

Your photos are amazing. I love the ship shots, the lighthouse and of course the dragons!!

One of the best things about Hurricane Bill were the clouds. They just kept exploding in the sky. It was an amazing week-end for photography!

Cindy and Steve I'm glad you were able to connect since you both have such wonderful photography.
