Point Pinos Lighthouse, From the Left Coast
The Point Pinos Lighthouse is on the southern end of Monterey Bay in Pacific Grove, CA. Isn't that Fresnel lens cool?

That is such a cute looking lighthouse. Ours are in a totally different style.
That is just odd Steve. Beautiful, but odd, almost like the lighthouse is growing out of a regular house!

I never saw a closeup like that of the light Steve.
What appeals to me most are those stunning, odd shape trees on the left.

Hi Sharon, There are some nice places in California. Certainly lost of stuff to photograph. I would stay away if you need nasty weather to keep you going.

Hi Joan, These are Monterey Cypress trees. Once a great forest of these existed along the central California coast, now just two small populations are left.
What an awesome lighthouse! The light part almost looks too big for the house. :-)

A lot of the west coast lighthouses are of that style. I have been to the Point Loma lighthouse near San Diego and it is a similar design.
