Least Tern Photo Study

B wanted to go to the beach last Sunday. I wasn’t too excited because I didn’t think I would be able to get anything better than what I shot on my last trip and therefore the day would be better spent looking for something else. Boy, was I wrong. I shot 300 frames of Least Terns, Peeps, Bank Swallows and Plovers.

Wonderful, wonderful birdshots!!!!
There is a whole story there with the inflight shot, the fight and that really cheeky look and shy hiding of the head. Just magnificent captures.

Steve, I am blown away by the shots you can get of these gorgeous birds! And you got action shots too which are my favorites.

Fantastic action shots Steve. This happens to me too, I dont want to go to a place and end up having one of my best days. Murphy's Law I guess. :)

Steve, you just proved that no matter where you go the birds follow so you can get good pictures. Wish I had that kind of luck...:-)

Another great set of images Steve. You really do get the clarity with the light colours.

How often it happens that we get our best photos and best shots when we think we are through - at the end of the day or going back where we've already been. Keeps reminding me to be always on the look-out, and somehow to be thinking I'm probably through - because then I'm not.

300 frames?
Isn't digital wonderful - think what that would have cost you in film!

Steve,

The last two look like the bird is taking it's bows for a wonderful performance.

Great pics as usual, Steve!
