Turkey Vultures

I was lucky enough to grab this one shot of two Turkey Vultures catching the morning sun in Mornogo Valley, California.

If you didn't see my SkyWatch Friday post last week, I gave a little tutorial on shooting blue skys.

Post script, Seems like quite a few folks remember the vultures from The Jungle Book.

Great, great shot. I hardly ever get such good looks at TVs up here. Hey, and that's some good spotting the third one, James!

I imagine these guys are having a lengthy, very intelligent conversation much like the vultures in the Disney version of The Jungle Book.

A beautiful shot but all vultires are such ugly birds. :)

I'd say that vultures have practical faces for their lifestyles.

Yep, that's one ugly bird Steve.

I love these birds. I always imagine them speaking with a British accent.

Just like in Junglebook!

These are a little different then what we have in New England, is that right? Their heads almost look like they've been skinned alive. Yikes! I still like 'em!

I always see turkey voltures here, only flying up high, never seen one up close. Thanks for sharing, this is one clear and excellent shot. Anna :)

I believe they are hungry! And discussing eating the guy sitting below....

Magnificent birds! But I always get a creeping feeling... :) But the blue sky is wonderful! And with sun behind you, you acvoid the birds being silhouets. (I watched the tutorial for us )

Your comment on my blog; I Didn't know about tha Halo predicting bad weather before you told me! :) So thanks! Then I was extra aware - and the snowstorm came the day after! I thought of you then! :)

Have a great weekend!

I ment "avoid" not "acvoid"!
