Portsmouth Harbor is frequented by large ships. This is one of the tugs that help pilot ships into port.

The trees in the background are starting to show some colors as the buds begin to ready themselves for bud break.

Well I can't decide which I like the best. Beautiful shots. That's the blues water I have ever seen.

Really nice Steve. And what luck to have the tug boat going by. Very, very nice. Can't say I've ever seen the lighthouse from that view. Where were you? And when did you take these, a couple weeks ago?

I like the side-lighting of this pics, that give depth and 3D effect to that Harbor light tower.
The sea bird that flew over head add life to it.
Beautiful as always!

Hi NCMountainwoman, This is not unlike Gloucester except the boats are generally much bigger.

Good to see you again Tammie Lee and Helen.

Hi Kathy, the cool thing is that you really don't have to decide!

Hi Tabib, Views of this light are restricted so I was luck that I could get some good lighting. These were taken at 2:00 in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay in around for the sun to go lower. I had to compromise the exposure on the lighthouse, it was causing too much loss in detail of the shadows. But all-in-all, I'm okay with these. Thanks for your encouragement.

Thanks Eve, No, it’s just a Herring Gull. LOL, I hope it is the worst picture of a bird that anyone will ever see on my blog! I was shooting at f18, hand held. The gull must have been about 150 feet out and the lighthouse at about 1500 feet.

Hi Sharon, B and I took theses yesterday. If you follow 1B north from the Wentworth, on the right, there will be a park called Great Island Common. We went in to watch a freighter go by and there it was. This was yesterday. When I was on lay-off, I went up to Fort Constitution and tried to shoot it from there but I was very disappointed. I may still publish a photo from that trip on Forgotten Photo Friday sometime.

Hi Kim, I like Portsmouth quite a bit. There is so many interesting buildings and boats there.

Hi Joan, I'll know it is spring when I see the apple blossoms. Won't be long now!

Thanks, Natural Moments and Kerri. It is all part of that New England, Atlantic North East thing.
