I will be presenting a video at the next Gloucester Guerilla Art Project at The Cape Ann Community Cinema on January 28th. The last project was November 12 and was a lot of fun. Watch for details here and on Good Morning Gloucester.

Amazing you could get so close to the Pelicans! Would you actually be able to touch them Steve?

Best of luck on your presentation!

Hi Steve, good luck with the presentation. Like everyone else, I can't believe the tameness of those Pelicans! Do the fishermen throw them scraps?

Hi All,

I was a little surprised by the Pelicans of Monterey. I've been in Pelican areas before, but this was a little unreal. They were so laidback. I’ve been on this spot before, but didn’t notice the pelicans before.

I’m sure most folks know Good Morning Gloucester. Joey gave me the bumper sticker and asked only that I send him a picture from a really cool place.

This picture, (photo credit goes to B), was taken by a fish cleaning station. Therefore, I’m sure they are used to bumming some chum. But these are wild birds and they have a bit of a hook on the end of that beak. They showed absolutely no aggression…but I didn’t want to be the stupid tourist on the way to the hospital for stitches and a glass eye! I gave him a respectable distance. About two feet! He was pretty cool and I think couldn’t give a hoot about my presence.

"Dude, ya got some fish?"

This sounds like a very exciting project Steve. Wonderful!! I love those pelicans, the birds in some of these places get to used to humans being around.

Hi Joan, I'm rather excited to be asked to do this.

It is fun to go some place where you can get photos of birds that you cannot get near in other places. I've put together a pelican posting that should be up in a couple of days.

I was briefly shocked when I saw this picture. It took me a bit to realize that despite the sticker in your hand, you weren't in Gloucester.
