Schooner Westward

The Schooner Westward from Rockland, Maine paid us a visit in Gloucester the weekend. Here she is leaving the harbor, rounding Tenpound Island. Schooners were once plentiful in Gloucester Harbor. There are still a few that call Gloucester home. We are frequently visited by schooners from all over the Eastern Seaboard.

Yesterday, we visited the Cape Ann Museum and viewed the collection of Fitz Henry Lane paintings. It is interesting with all of the climate changes, we still see the same color palate that Fitz Henry saw. These two photos are not good examples. Check out Inspiring Fitz Henry Lane, an earlier post, for better examples.
